How to Compare Card Prices in Canada

A shopping guide by TCG Marketplace

A useful price comparison starts with the same card, in the same condition. TCG Marketplace brings Canadian store listings together in CAD so you can narrow your options before checking out with a retailer.

Compare the exact printing

A card name can cover several sets, collector numbers, artworks and finishes. A cheaper reprint is useful when you want a playable copy, but it may not be the printing you want for a collection. Select your game, search the name or printing code, then use the set, collector number and finish filters to narrow Singles results.

  • Match the set and collector number.
  • Compare the same finish and condition, such as non-foil near mint.
  • Check the language and available quantity in the listing and at the retailer.

Choose stores that work for your order

Use retailer and province filters when you already have a preferred store or want to investigate local pickup. A store being in your province does not guarantee pickup or a particular shipping price; confirm those options on its website. Signed-in shoppers can also filter by their favourite stores.

Compare available copies as well as unit prices. A store with one copy at a low price may not cover a four-copy deck requirement. Inventory and prices can change between a search and checkout.

Calculate the delivered total

Search prices are card prices, not delivered totals. Add each store's shipping charge and applicable tax, and check any free-shipping threshold or pickup option before deciding.

For example, a $20 card with $8 shipping costs $28 before tax. A $22 copy of the same printing and condition with $4 shipping costs $26 before tax. The higher listed card price gives the lower total in this example. Compare the same quantities and include every package when ordering from several stores.

Compare a whole decklist together

Multi-Search accepts up to 150 card entries and shows store coverage. After searching, open Optimize cart to compare Lowest card cost, Fewest stores and Balanced plans. Balanced looks for fewer stores within 10% of the lowest card subtotal found among your results.

The plans respect requested quantities and your minimum condition, and show missing copies. They include supported store discounts but exclude shipping and tax. Review each store's allocation and delivery cost before choosing Use this plan; a lower subtotal spread over more stores can cost more to deliver.

Confirm the listing before paying

Open the retailer's listing or checkout to confirm the variant, quantity, current price and stock. The retailer handles payment, shipping, returns and customer support. TCG Marketplace compares listings; your purchase is with the store you choose.

If you are still deciding, sign in to bookmark a listing. Bookmarks compare its recorded price with the latest synced price when you open or refresh them. A bookmark does not reserve stock or lock a price.
