Buying TCG Singles & Sealed in Canada
A shopping guide by TCG Marketplace
The right comparison depends on what you want to buy. Use Singles for specific cards, Sealed for packaged products, and Graded Slabs for encapsulated cards. Each search compares Canadian retailer listings in CAD.
Start with the right product search
Choose Singles when you need a particular card for a deck or collection. Sealed is for products such as booster packs, displays, starter decks and bundles. Graded Slabs is for cards sold in grading-company holders; those listings should be compared by both the card and its grade.
The game pages link to the relevant searches and explain which printing details to check. Randomized booster packs do not guarantee a particular card. Check the contents of fixed-content decks and bundles at the retailer; if you want only an exact card, compare its singles listings directly.
Buying singles: decide which versions you accept
Start with a card name or printing code, then narrow by set, finish and condition. A Pokémon reverse holo and a regular version, or a Magic reprint and a special artwork, are separate purchase choices even when the card name matches.
For a deck, decide whether you accept multiple printings and conditions before comparing the full list in Multi-Search. For a collection, check the collector number, language and artwork at the retailer. Read the store's condition policy rather than assuming every store grades wear the same way.
Buying sealed: match the package size
Use the game and product-category filters in Sealed, then check the exact product and packaging option. A single booster pack, a booster display and a case are different units. Compare matching language, release and package size; a low unit price can otherwise be misleading.
- Confirm the number of packs, decks or boxes included.
- Check the language and exact product edition.
- Read whether the retailer lists it as in stock or as a preorder, and check the dispatch terms.
Buying slabs: match the card, company and grade
In Graded Slabs, compare the same printing and finish, grading company and grade. Prices for different grades or grading companies should not be treated as equivalent copies.
Before paying, inspect the retailer's photos, certification details and description of the holder's condition. Confirm the item being sold is the specific slab shown. TCG Marketplace displays retailer listings; a search result is not an independent authentication of the card.
Review the complete order
Check shipping, tax, pickup options and any free-shipping threshold at the retailer. If you split an order, count delivery charges from every store. Search and cart subtotals exclude shipping and tax.
Confirm current availability, your delivery address and the retailer's cancellation and return policies. Payment and fulfilment are handled by that retailer. Save useful listings in Bookmarks if you want to return to them, but recheck price and stock when you are ready to buy.
